SocorristaIB provides atmospheric and oceanographic variables interpolated from numerical prediction models (oceanographic and atmospheric) at the points closest to the Balearic 352 beaches where there lifeguard service mesh.Is a support tool for rescuers fill in the memories of incidents on the beaches, providing objective and comparable data for statistical purposes. It is also a tool used for planning and decision making of the lifeguards, resulting in an improvement in the safety of bathing areas.In addition, the app allows the rescuer scheduled notifications to be notified when a certain variable (wave height, for example) reaches a certain threshold, thus contributing to security management of the beaches based on knowledge.This app has been developed by ICTS SOCIB in collaboration with the General Directorate for Emergències i Interior Govern de les Illes Balears, AEMET and Ports, with the participation of municipal officials and security dealers 352 of them beaches Illes Balears that have lifeguard service.Responds to the needs of lifeguards on the beaches of the Balearic Islands and the new capabilities of observation and prediction systems (atmospheric, marine, coastal, etc.), for the provision of quality data locally and in real time to support the sustainable use of the sea and its shores.To learn more about SOCIB, visit us at http://www.socib.es.
